Restoration Forestry Hike

September 17, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Join Sanctuary Forest on Sunday, September 17th for the Restoration Forestry in Action Hike, led by Sanctuary Forest Board President and Mattole Salmon Group restorationist Campbell Thompson, SF’s Lands Program Director Galen Doherty, and Tim Metz of Restoration Forestry.  Held in Whitethorn Grove in the Mattole River headwaters, hikers will get a first-hand look at the use of forest management to accelerate the return of old-growth conditions, road upgrades, and recently completed salmon habitat enhancement structures. Meet at the Sanctuary Forest office at 10 a.m., bring a lunch and water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. This hike is free, but we gladly accept donations.
