Exploring the Sanctuary Forest: Van Arken

Join Sanctuary Forest on Sunday, July 9 for the Exploring the Sanctuary Forest Hike in the Van Arken watershed. Explore, have fun, and learn while touring this threatened watershed with a fisheries biologist and a forester.  We’ll be learning about the fish that are rearing in our streams and how we can help them come back, as well as traversing the upslope and learning the importance of forest health, with on-the-ground examples of how to preserve diverse forest types that have been lost over the years.
