Elephant Seal Ecology Hike

February 8, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Mattole Field Institute presents a Elephant Seal Ecology Hike on February 8th led by Dawn Goley, HSU marine mammal biologist. Did you know the King Range National Conservation Area is home to a fast-growing elephant seal colony? Come get a close look at one of the biggest and noisiest wild creatures with whom we share our coast! This is a great chance for kids to see and learn about wildlife up close!

Please bring water, snacks, windbreaker, hat, warm layers, sandals for creek crossing & binoculars. Please leave dogs at home.

Tentative plan is to meet at 12:30pm at the Windy Point Road Gate, but please contact Flora at flora@mattole.org if you plan to attend, as weather conditions may change final meeting time and place.
